Cursed Spirit Fire Eye: Mage Boss Build and Vulnerability Chain

How the source builds Fire Eye for boss tests using Cursed Spirit, Lightning Aether, a four-piece set and sustained Vulnerability.

Dated Chinese-server findings; global behavior and English names unverified.

Source: 邪神攻略站, September 21, 2026 at 18:39 as displayed in the saved page (timezone not stated). Original article. Edited for this site on October 12, 2026.

Scope: Dated Chinese-server observations and source-author recommendations, not independently tested here. Overseas-server behavior and official English names remain unverified. English names are provisional; Chinese identifiers are retained for matching.

A boss build with a required weapon

The September 21 source recommends this only for boss/training-dummy encounters, where survival and displayed combat power are not the goal. It requires Cursed Spirit (咒灵); the author advises against copying its Lightning Aether and standalone-jewelry approach without that weapon.

The source’s opening says Fire Eye beats Pyroblast by roughly 1.5–2×. Its later 90-second comparison gives: high-investment Thorns highest; Fire Eye at one-half to two-thirds of Thorns; Pyroblast at two-thirds of Fire Eye; then Pyroblast slightly ahead of Lightning Blade, which is slightly ahead of Thunder Hammer. The Thorns reference had 2,000% critical damage and 1,500% Thorns damage. These are the author’s setups, not equal-investment class rankings. They had not yet compared Divine Punishment Fire Blade.

The author describes Thorns as critical damage × Thorns damage, and Fire Eye as critical damage × DoT. The latter uses Elemental Vulnerability (元素易损), lasting 3 seconds with a 7-second trigger cooldown. The gap between high- and low-investment Thorns is therefore particularly large in this account.

Why the Basic Skill origin matters

The reported chain is Basic Skill → Lightning Aether strike → electric effect → Cursed Spirit’s electric Elemental Vulnerability DoT. The author treats the final electric DoT as Basic Skill damage because of its origin. Each stack is said to roll separately for a Basic Skill chance-to-apply-Vulnerability affix, making stacks accumulate quickly.

A Lightning Aether strike originating from a Core Skill is not equivalent. Roll at least one Basic Skill chance-to-apply-Vulnerability affix. This is why the author uses Scorching (灼热) and Domain (领域) rather than Explosion (爆破) and Black Hole (黑洞) in this version.

Set and glove tradeoff

The author credits the Fire Eye four-piece with about 1.4× direct amplification, plus 80% elemental damage that they estimate as at least another 1.2× in their setup, and a Skyfire effect every 6 seconds. Those are separate statements, not a complete universal damage formula.

The standalone glove’s +110% DoT adds to the panel bonus; it does not mean all DoT is multiplied by 2.1. Above 500% panel DoT, the author prefers replacing it with a set glove and using Burn boots for their reported 1.2× benefit.

Affixes and enhancement

SlotsSource prioritiesEnhancement
Weapon / head / shouldersElemental; Core; critical chance/additional-hit chance; DoT; Ice Beam damage or haste; Basic Skill Vulnerability chance or healthy damageSixth > DoT > Core; keep at least one Vulnerability roll
Chest / bracersMixed and three resistances; per-second regeneration; block; Fire Wave haste; Demon Contract / Prosperity levels, one eachSixth > fifth
Gloves / beltSame defensive first four; Gravity Field cooldown; Flash of Insight / Control energy recovery, one eachSixth > fifth
Pants / bootsSame defensive first four; Lightning Orb cooldown; free final roll such as Piercing Roar, Spell Counter or Cast DisruptionFifth
JewelryElemental; Core; critical/additional-hit chance; DoT; Aether cooldown; damage reductionFifth > DoT > Core

Reach 100% critical chance, then favor additional-hit chance. Offerings favor DoT, then critical/additional damage. With Spell Calling, the author targets 35% rolled cooldown reduction. This recommendation belongs to the dated boss setup and does not establish a survival-ready Rift build.

Build-sheet details and saved evidence

The sheet uses Fire Wave–Scorching, Ice Beam–Fire Eye, Gravity Field–Domain, Lightning Orb–Electrolysis and Lightning Aether–Thunderstorm. Passives: Demon Contract, Elemental Resonance, Spell Calling and Prosperity. The four-piece is Desolate Lich (绝灵巫妖): the sheet lists Ice Beam damage +60%, additional damage +160%, and an Elemental Goddess stack mechanic that triggers at 5 stacks, raising elemental damage by 80% and final damage by 40%, then calling an extra elemental ice zone every 6 seconds for the rest of the fight.

Items pictured: Cursed Spirit weapon; Scholar’s Legacy bracers (博学者的遗赠); Scholar’s Resolve chest; Desperate Advance boots (绝境进发); Snake Flow belt; Time Frost necklace (时序寒霜); Galloping Prayer talisman (奔马祈佑); Chilling Judgment ring (凛冬判则). Main imprint: Furious Wildflame (狂野烈焰), with Blizzard, Fortification, Frenzy and Rainbow Drain; lightning/flame resonance; Demon Egg main, Lilith/Bro and Cow King reserves. The main imprint’s tooltip describes an eight-hit 3,000% Attack fire storm over 4 seconds, and 50% increased fire damage taken, once per 6 seconds.
